Kittie will be in attendance in the University of Westminster on both days of the forthcoming Unconvention - hosted by The Fortean Times. Here, she will also unleash a new work as the concluding item on Sunday’s agenda.

The latest installment of critically acclaimed Victorian Values (a series of classical burlesques) will be ‘unveiled’ on Sunday 2nd November. Written by Lord Dashwood and performed by a stunning array of Ministry of Burlesque supemos, prepare to witness the ‘Cabinet of Death’. With curious campaigns and an eccentric troupe of performers, neo-Victorian entertainer Kittie Klaw is founder of the notorious Ministry of Burlesque and captain of the classical burlesque revival. As a champion of both avant-grade art and science, she is also no stranger the world of the weird.

 

As a double graduate in psychology and with an academic background in parapsychology, Kittie (aka Kirsty) was the last student of the late Prof. R.L Morris of the Koestler Parapsychology Unit and, was a formal paranormal investigator for the SSPR.

After gaining notoriety in the press and media for bother her academic and artistic proclivities, she is now based in London and oversees the expansion of her eccentric entertainment empire where she writes, directs and performs.

This issue is to celebrate the forthcoming Bizarre Ball set ofr 10th October at The Coronet Theatre. Kittie has returned from the UK’s most beautiful city, Edinburgh after a triumphant party for the Vegas! 10th birthday extravaganza where she headlined in a glittering, kooky tribute to Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas.Described as ”Burlesque Superstar” by the Scotland’s leading events publication The List, Kittie was also interviewed about her experience as a Vegas! regular and supporter of this pioneering vintage club.

On 26th, Kittie by special request and a selection of her favourite Ministry of Burlesque performers are to entertain at the prestigious Met Bar in London’s Park Lane. The party is a special one for the MoB as it is not only a members party for their friends at the Met Bar but it is also an impromptu birthday bash for The MoBFather (James)… See here for more details.

On 18th, Kittie opens the fashion show for Eternal Spirits luxury lingerie along with her Ministry of Burlesque cohorts. The celebrity bash is held at the Crystal Room and she is also interviewed for Fashion TV.

Evidence that Kittie is at least ‘OK!’ has emerged on the shelves. This week’s OK! magazine features snaps from the event including Kittie’s wing dance.Next week she get’s ‘better’ in an ironic play on words - Kittie shoots for a spread and interview for Mal magazine (’Mal’ however is used as an abbreviation and not intended as the French word for ‘ill’).

Kittie and The Ministry of Burlesque return to Glasgow for a special fund raising High Tease show on 16th September. The event is designed to help restore the Britannia Panopticon Theatre which 150 years old this year and marks a unique history in British entertainment.This special show has a special guest star too - Miss Immodesty Blaize - who was crowned Miss Exotic World 2007 this year in Las Vegas where Kittie and James were judges at this prestigious affair.

The show takes place in Oran Mor in Glasgow’s west end and tickets are tipped to sell fast. also appearing are Dusty Limits, Des O’Connor, Fancy Chance, Sugar Kane, Lucky Charms, Gypsy and Viva and many others.

On 8th and 9th August, Hoxton Hall (an original Victorian music Hall) in Shoreditch will host Kittie’s debut production, Victorian Values.

Created, co-written and directed by Kittie, this full length burlesque show is a play which sends up Victorian Britain’s system of etiquette, morals and ethics. The show stars the very cream of Kittie’s MoBstars and an original score by Mr. Desmond O’Connor.  Kittie makes appearances as Britannia and Miss Kitty De Winter-Fairbotham.

Tipped by Time Out as ‘breaking new ground’, this show is argualy the first full length burlesque show since Gilbert and Sullivan.

Tonight is the first broadcast of the burlesque special of the hit show ‘WAGS Boutique’.

“Burlesque Veteran” Kittie and the MoB were called in to set the challenge for the teams this week.

The WAGS had to undertake a crash course in Burlesque and then perform and auction off their sexy burlesque wears in front of Kittie and The MoB.

This week, Kittie coordinated the Ministry of Burlesque cabaret and also performed at the most lavish Christmas party in London. The party was hosted by celebrity jewellery designer, Stephen Webster in the legendary Home House and was styled by the prestigious Flaming Parrot image consultancy. The guest were treated to a sumptuous meal, copious amounts of champagne the incredible sounds of jazzy indefinable, genre-melting ensemble, Barefoot. The evening begun with a media parade of Hello, Grazia, ES magazine among others who snapped away at the VIPs and celebrity guests including Tracey Emin and Bryan Ferry. Kittie performed an elegant fandance at the reception and followed with her ‘Eye Spy’ routine after dark. Kittie and her MoB cohorts including Miss Diamond Blush, Red Sarah, Ruby Rouge, Dusty Limits and Jessie Pie were given an uproarious applause and certainly added the saucy touch to the photographs and proceedings. Entertaining until the small hours of the morning the MoB lot were described as ‘awesome’ and ‘wonderful’ by guests such as Callum Best, and were a incredible hit with this most elegant set of Londoners and were bestowed with gorgeous gifts from Mr Webster himself.Look out for MoB mentions in the press!

Kittie unleashed her new glittering red, white and thoroughly ‘blue’ Britannia show piece last night in front of 6,500 guests at VodStock - a private festival for communication giant Vodaphone, in the royal gardens of Blenheim Palace. Sharing a stage with pop-rockers Embrace and Ms Dynamite, Texas and others Mdme Klaw made crescendo with her outrageous new work.An ironic, spectacular act, fit for the Duke himself!

In it’s heyday the Britannia Panopticon saw the likes of Stan Laurel and Cary Grant (known then as Archie Leach) and was supporting the art of Burlesque, Vaudeville and Musical Hall from the 1840s. The theatre has records of Burlesque acts dating back to the mid nineteenth century, proving that Burlesque was most certainly not a US invention from between the wars as many a UK newspaper mistakenly reports! The MoB helped to raise over £500 in two hours and hopw to have along lasting relationship with the historical gem.
