This years celebrated Cannes Film Festival will see an exciting new addition to the line up of A-list attractions and party places.

For some time Kittie has been writing a full length burlesque show akin to the older British tradition where satire is the focus rather than any kind of striptease. Last week, at London’s historic Hoxton Hall, we saw the debut of some of this new work.The good folks of Time Out tipped the show and interviewed Kittie here.

We are pleased to announce the sell out success of her first theatrical creation with Ministry of Burlesque - ‘Victorian Values’. Kittie is extremely grateful to her co director Des O’Connor and performing writers Dashy, Des, Jim and Sarah, the wonderful cast including Vicky, Diamond and Fifi and producer James Malach for all their input and enthusiasm.

Victorian Values is a glorious work in progress and can be monitored on the MoB forums and seen on the Victorian Values website.

The show has been considered to be ‘breaking new ground’ (Time Out) and a first in modern burlesque history as it is celebrating the almost forgotten British form of burlesque which is radically different from the US form which is already enjoying a full revival in it’s own right.

Kittie has just returned from a manic week in Las Vegas where she and MoBFather James were once again upon a celebrity infused panel of judges including distinguished legends such as Kitten Natividad and Tura Satana.Between having her breasts cast for Keep A Breast Charity, taking part in the World Record attempt for World’s Longest Feather Boa and Bump ‘n Grind, being interviewed, photographed and in turn also interviewing the ultimate names in Burlesque strip tease such as Tempest Storm, Stephanie Blake and Jo ‘Boobs’ Weldon, Kittie took time to get to know a whole company of new friends and fellow burly enthusiasts from across the USA and Canada and was thrilled to meet so many knowledgeable and talented performers.

Tonight is the first broadcast of the burlesque special of the hit show ‘WAGS Boutique’.

“Burlesque Veteran” Kittie and the MoB were called in to set the challenge for the teams this week.

The WAGS had to undertake a crash course in Burlesque and then perform and auction off their sexy burlesque wears in front of Kittie and The MoB.

The current edition of Bizarre Magazine has a wonder 2 page feature on High Tease. High Tease is the revue show and party which is produced by Kittie and her infamous Ministry of Burlesque every month in London, Brighton and Glasgow. The event is designed to showcase the professional talent in the Burlesque community and provide stage time for newly emerging starlets.High Tease is featured with a rave review and colourful photo spread of characters in action all taken at the February High Tease in Glasgow. The event is also listed first in Bizarre’s top ten Burlesque clubs in the UK, Hurrah!

Tonight on BBC2, it’s Pay off Your Mortgage in 2 Years - an unusual programme where the lovely folks behind jewellery design company Candy Crystal endeavor to do just that. In order to get the best press launch possible, Candy Crystal enlist the help of Kittie and James from The Ministry of Burlesque to help them choose a venue and design a burlesque inspired launch party.

The run up to the event and the event are being filmed by BBC2 for showing in early 2007. Watch this space for updates!

In it’s heyday the Britannia Panopticon saw the likes of Stan Laurel and Cary Grant (known then as Archie Leach) and was supporting the art of Burlesque, Vaudeville and Musical Hall from the 1840s. The theatre has records of Burlesque acts dating back to the mid nineteenth century, proving that Burlesque was most certainly not a US invention from between the wars as many a UK newspaper mistakenly reports! The MoB helped to raise over £500 in two hours and hopw to have along lasting relationship with the historical gem.
